The Aircraft Exterior Finisher is responsible for preparing aircraft and component parts through surface preparation tasks prior to the application of primer and topcoat. Key responsibilities include:

  • Adhering to Bombardier's General Work Requirements for factory, shop, and hangar positions
  • Complying with environmental health and safety policies and procedures
  • Participating in 5-S activities and performing all work safely and efficiently
  • Conducting surface preparation on aircraft and component parts
  • Applying primer, topcoat, and final spray
  • Performing touch-ups as necessary
  • Polishing painted surfaces for a refined appearance
  • Installing sealant and erosion tape
  • Executing additional duties as assigned

Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • A minimum of one (1) year of painting experience in aviation, automotive, or marine sectors
  • Successful completion of a Pulmonary Function evaluation for respirator certification
  • Formal vocational training or equivalent experience
  • Customer service and aviation work experience
  • Basic PC skills
  • Familiarity with maintenance manuals and IPCs
  • Understanding of regulations regarding hazardous materials transportation
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms regarding individual and aircraft status
  • Ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings
