We are seeking a passionate and skilled Web UI Engineer with a robust foundation in user experience and interface design.

As a vital contributor to our organization, you will be responsible for crafting and executing user interfaces and tools within a highly collaborative environment that includes operations, hardware, and deep learning professionals.

We are looking for a developer who pays meticulous attention to detail and can articulate complex workflows and use-cases effectively, using these discussions to inform the design and development of user-friendly interfaces.

The ability to create straightforward APIs for backend systems is advantageous. This role demands a commitment to ongoing innovation in existing processes and a strong emphasis on teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the complete design process from gathering requirements, defining features, and producing deliverables grounded in user-centered design to facilitate large-scale annotation initiatives.
  • Simplify intricate design and interaction concepts, presenting and discussing them with engineers and stakeholders.
  • Refine intuitive experience concepts through rapid prototyping.
  • Create user interfaces to monitor quality, costs, and make forecasts across numerous simultaneous data collection projects.
  • Represent our team within multifunctional groups, ensuring that user interface designs align with operational needs and technical specifications.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in building scalable and high-performance consumer-facing web applications.
  • Proficiency in modern web technologies such as HTML5, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Proven expertise in at least one JavaScript framework like Vue, React, Angular, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with the complete web stack, including protocols and web performance optimization techniques.
  • Able to work independently and collaborate with multifunctional partners in design, software, and hardware to devise simple solutions to complex challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expert knowledge of user-centered UI/UX design principles and a strategic vision for creating innovative design solutions.
  • Proficiency in writing and maintaining unit and E2E tests using frameworks and libraries such as Jest, Mocha, Vitest, or Playwright.
  • Experience with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD to create mockups and the ability to translate these into functional code.
  • Experience working with and developing REST APIs and GraphQL endpoints.
  • Familiarity with the challenges of cross-browser development, including Chrome and Safari on macOS, Windows, iPadOS, and iOS.
  • A keen eye for detail and a curiosity about working with Machine Learning and data-driven AI teams.
Compensation & Benefits:

At Apple, base pay is one component of our comprehensive compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity for growth as you develop within your role. The base pay range for this position is between $135,400 and $250,600, depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
