The Gas Pipe Fuser is a critical role in the construction, maintenance, repair, and replacement of natural gas distribution infrastructure for MasTec Advanced Technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Support the crew in handling and fusing gas pipe.
- Fuse pipe that has been ditched or drilled in the ground.
- Ensure every fuse meets quality standards.
- Keep tools in complete working order.
- Locate utilities by hand using a shovel and probe.
- Manage inventory on the truck.
- Teach other employees how to fuse pipe to the correct specifications.
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of gas pipeline experience.
- Operator Qualification (OQ).
- Class A CDL (preferred).
- 2 or more years of gas pipeline experience (preferred).
This job operates in a field environment, requiring extended periods of physical activity, including bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and standing. The role also involves working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.
