Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accounting Manager to oversee and manage a variety of accounting, accounts payable, and reporting functions for our agency. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the financial health and stability of Graham Windham.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Monitoring: Responsible for monitoring, recording, and preparing schedules for all agency portfolio transactions on a monthly basis.
  • Asset & Fiscal Management: Oversee all asset management activities, including recording transactions, maintaining applicable schedules, and reconciling general ledger inventory with agency software data. Implement strategies to enhance remote work functionalities within our fiscal technology and accounting systems.
  • Auditing / Regulatory Functions: Manage all internal and external auditing functions, collaborating with government and CPA auditors, and providing necessary documentation. Prepare site allocation records and corresponding schedules for reporting purposes.
  • Reporting & Reconciliation: Generate comprehensive government reports (CFR, IRS 990, Pension 5500, ACS Schedule 7, etc.). Reconcile agency Metro and gift card accounts to ensure accuracy and transparency.
  • Accounts Payable: Lead all Accounts Payable functions, including vendor invoice processing, payment authorization, and record-keeping. Provide the AVP of Finance with regular disbursement and aging reports. Collaborate with the AVP of Finance to optimize integration between AP and Purchasing systems.
  • Other Responsibilities: Contribute to selected short and long-term special projects assigned by the AVP of Finance or other senior administrators.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a BA/BS degree is required; a CPA designation is highly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in government or non-profit accounting, demonstrating proficiency in financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
  • Exceptional computer skills are essential, including proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Database, and spreadsheet applications).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are crucial for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A commitment to excellence and continuous quality improvement in operational functions is vital. This includes maintaining accreditation and compliance with regulatory agencies and funding sources.
  • Prior experience with Sage MIP accounting system, inventory management, and purchasing practices is highly desirable.
