Assistant Property Manager

Join our dedicated team as an Assistant Property Manager with Volunteers of America National Services.

Position Overview:
The Assistant Property Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily functions of the property, which includes managing staff, ensuring maintenance of the facilities, and handling administrative responsibilities for both internal and external stakeholders. Building and maintaining positive relationships with residents is a key aspect of this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations of the property office, ensuring all bookkeeping, marketing, and lease documentation are executed properly.
  • Promote the property in compliance with Fair Housing Regulations and management guidelines.
  • Prepare and submit reports as required by management or regulatory authorities.
  • Maintain organized office files for all business and financial records, ensuring accurate account credits and deposits.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the property to ensure that both the building and grounds are well-maintained, addressing any necessary repairs.
  • Assist in the recruitment, training, supervision, evaluation, and discipline of staff members.
  • Address all resident inquiries and concerns promptly.
  • Support additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience in property management.
  • Familiarity with regulations and guidelines relevant to conventional properties.
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to foster positive relationships with residents and team members.
  • Successful completion of background checks (including drug screening and employment history).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional certifications such as CMH, ARM, CAM, RAM, COS, or LIHTC are preferred.
  • Knowledge of LIHTC and HUD programs.
