Position Overview:
The Clinical Practice Specialist collaborates with and is a vital member of our healthcare team. This role involves examining and treating patients independently and in partnership with the supervising physician. Responsibilities include ensuring appropriate care for illnesses and injuries, assisting in disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery while managing outpatient visits and supporting inpatient needs. The specialist will also participate in follow-up outpatient consultations. They are responsible for supporting the call schedule as needed based on physician availability and hospital requirements. The role demands advanced medical and nursing knowledge, a solid foundation in evidence-based practices, and the provision of safe, quality care for patients, grounded in sound clinical judgment, effective communication skills, and timely, compliant documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct examinations, diagnose, and treat patients.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests to manage various gastrointestinal conditions.
- Assist physicians in accurate diagnosis and treatment management.
- Collect, document, and maintain precise patient information.
- Prescribe medications and appropriate therapies.
- Educate patients on disease prevention, prescribed treatments, and health maintenance.
- Gather health and medical histories to understand the conditions being treated and determine the best course of action.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the digestive system, related diseases, and stay updated with advancements in the field to apply best practices.
- Travel to outreach locations served by Gastroenterology Associates.
- Strong problem-solving abilities

- Master's degree preferred
- National Board Certification required
- BLS certification required

- Proficiency in MS Excel and electronic health systems, such as EPIC, required
- Knowledge of GCP, federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA policies and procedures.
