About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team at Methodist Hospital Specialty and Transplant.

Job Summary:

This position involves delivering high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care aligned with departmental requirements and industry standards. The ideal candidate will assess patients, document findings, and deliver various respiratory therapies, including oxygen and aerosol medications. Additionally, they will assist in placing artificial airways, managing mechanical ventilation, and monitoring patient responses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients' respiratory conditions and document findings, including breath sounds and airway patency.
  • Deliver respiratory therapies as prescribed by physicians, such as oxygen and aerosol medications.
  • Assist in placing artificial airways and managing mechanical ventilation in critically ill patients.
  • Monitor patients' responses to treatment and intervene when necessary.
  • Transport patients who require ventilator assistance to ensure timely and safe care.
  • Respond to emergencies to ensure patient safety and adequate ventilation.

Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate must obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
  • A current Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential is required.
  • A Certificate or Associate Degree in respiratory therapy is preferred.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification is essential.
  • Licensed Certified Respiratory Therapist (LCRT) credentials are acceptable if obtained before 2002.
