Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Anesthesia Technician to join our team at The University of Kansas Health System. As an Anesthesia Technician, you will play a critical role in providing quality patient care and support to our patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and OR staff members in patient care and support as ordered and prescribed by the attending surgeon, anesthesiologist, or perfusionist.
  • Perform procedures, recording, analyzing, and diagnosing various physiological monitoring functions using a variety of devices, equipment, or techniques.
  • Facilitate processes to maintain successful inventory levels and cost-effective practice of supply management by team members.
  • Demonstrate abilities and competencies in performing procedures, recording, analyzing, and diagnosing various physiological monitoring functions using invasive monitoring devices, arterial line setup, PA catheters setup and assist, cardiac output monitors setup and assist, ECG, POC testing, autologous blood recovery system, directional doppler, and other equipment relevant to the position.
  • Maintain procedural database and follow infection control guidelines for maintaining, cleaning, and using non-disposable equipment and maintaining timely changes of indwelling catheters and lines.
  • Perform professional, clinical, and technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate of Science degree
  • 1 or more years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician or in a perioperative or procedural patient-facing clinical role
Work Environment

This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday, with one weekday off.
