About the Role

Lantana Consulting Group Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Public Health Data Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing consulting, analytics, training, and development services to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN).

Key Responsibilities
  • Access and analyze complex data from various sources to provide actionable insights for our clients.
  • Conduct analyses in SAS and Python, interpret, summarize, and present findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Manipulate datasets and perform quality checks on analytic deliverables.
  • Communicate analytic advice and data-science methodology to clients, management, and staff.
  • Analyze client needs and translate them into formal requirements.
  • Deliver project updates and presentations.
  • Collaborate to plan, develop, and implement validation activities and healthcare-quality measurement programs.
  • Maintain public-health expertise and stay abreast of current trends in the field.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or related discipline and at least twelve (12) years of relevant experience.
  • Experience using SAS to import data, manipulate data/datasets, and conduct analyses to evaluate data quality and accuracy.
  • Experience using R or Python.
  • Experience managing large datasets, moving and merging files from different platforms, cleaning and aggregating data, and performing quality control.
  • Experience working with quality-assurance testing or user-acceptance testing involving healthcare data.
  • Ability to learn new tasks quickly.
  • Attention to detail when developing materials, reviewing documentation, troubleshooting issues, and reporting results.
  • Ability to successfully complete a Position of Public Trust Level 5 background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or related discipline.
  • Experience importing a variety of data types (including XML, JSON, CSV, and XSLX) into SAS.
  • Experience working with national contracts/datasets.
  • Experience with data modernization and/or automation.

  • This position is 100% work-from-home/remote apart from the annual company meeting, held as conditions allow.
