Production Operations Supervisor

Support the supervisor in overseeing the daily production activities and resources, including work assignments, training, and coverage for breaks and vacations within production roles.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the supervisor in managing daily production activities and resources, including work assignments, training, and relief for breaks and vacations
- Support production shifts in the supervisor's absence
- Understand the entire product flow for the assigned area or facility and assist in training both new and existing employees
- Perform all operator duties (e.g., maintain records, operate, shut down, and clean all equipment)
- Fill in for absent production staff with minimal notice, as determined by plant needs within the scheduled shift
- Prioritize safety in all operations
- Ensure all produced products meet accepted specifications
- Verify that equipment operates within established parameters
- Monitor compliance with company policies and local, state, and federal regulations
- Ensure adherence to all GMP, HACCP, safety, and plant documentation and regulatory policies and procedures by others, reporting any noncompliance to the supervisor or manager
- Exercise good judgment in protecting customer, company, vendor, and employee information
- Maintain positive working relationships with customers, vendors, employees, and peers
- Handle challenging situations with diplomacy
- Consistently demonstrate the ability to identify and manage priorities
- With a mindset of continuous improvement, identify opportunities to enhance processes

High school diploma or equivalent
4+ years of experience in manufacturing or production, preferably in the dairy or consumer goods sector, along with demonstrated leadership qualities
Certification and/or License – may be required during the course of employment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office products and company computer systems
Demonstrated leadership capabilities as a self-starter and ability to set direction
Effective collaboration skills and ability to foster teamwork
Strong interpersonal skills for positive interactions with others
Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to manage challenging or conflict situations with professionalism
Support others in complex job aspects in a safe and constructive manner
Follow directions and meet deadlines efficiently
Proactive in finding solutions to problems
Present options and ideas for current processes or procedures
Interpret and apply company policies effectively
Adapt to and manage change effectively
Perform tasks and duties independently without constant supervision
Must be able to read, write, and speak English
