Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Neonatal Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at University Hospitals. As a key member of our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, education, and research to our patients and families.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, implement, and evaluate plans of care for patients in accordance with the scope of practice of a Neonatal provider and current standard of care.
  • Manage a caseload of medically complex neonates in the acute phase and transition to home.
  • Participate in high-risk deliveries and demonstrate age-appropriate care to neonates from birth to two years old.
  • Initiate and participate in education, research, and professional activities that contribute to improving patient care, Neonatal APP program operation, or the Neonatal APP's own professional development.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers in an interdisciplinary approach to provide care to the patient and family.
  • Order and perform routine diagnostic procedures, develop and implement treatment plans, and monitor the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.
  • Contribute to the educational development of staff, patients, family, and self.
  • Advances own professional development through self-directed learning, continuing education, and participation in peer review.
  • Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients/customers and co-workers.
  • Takes responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment.
  • Displays commitment to the mission of the hospital and its values.
Requirements
  • Must be a licensed Neonatal Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in the state of Ohio.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) setting.
  • Must have a strong understanding of neonatal care and current research.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
