Medical Records Clerk Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Medical Records Clerk to join our team at Whisperwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. As a Medical Records Clerk, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and confidentiality of patient records.

Responsibilities:
  • Organize and maintain facility medical records system in compliance with company, state, and federal regulations.
  • Code and quantify records from admission to discharge.
  • Assist with development of record policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a documented, organized system which is readily accessible by others.
  • Prepare reports as requested.
  • Act as secretary for designated meetings.
  • Conduct resident chart audits quarterly.
  • Order, receive, stock, and dispense departmental supplies, and maintain an accurate inventory.
  • Maintain accurate records of facility supplies and resident and ancillary services, preparing reports as required.
Requirements:
  • Medical Records certification preferred.
  • Basic clerical and office function skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
