Job Title: Medical Records Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Records Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate and confidential student health records, providing direct nursing care to students, and collaborating with campus administration and staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality health services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and manage student health needs, providing direct nursing care and making referrals as necessary.
  • Manage and maintain accurate and confidential student health records, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with campus administration and staff to develop and implement health-related plans and programs.
  • Provide health education and promotion to students, staff, and parents, promoting healthy lifestyles and self-responsibility.
  • Participate in professional development and training to maintain current knowledge and skills in nursing and health services.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited professional nursing education program.
  • Valid Registered Nurse License to practice professional nursing in Texas from the State Board of Nurse Examiners.
  • Minimum of three years nursing experience in community health, hospital environment, physician's office, or school health.
  • Certified by Texas Department of Health to conduct vision, hearing, and scoliosis screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from a four-year college or university.
  • Certification in a specialized area of nursing, such as pediatrics or school nursing.
Working Conditions:

The Medical Records Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with students, staff, and parents on a daily basis. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate clearly and effectively, and maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
