Postdoctoral Researcher in Infectious Diseases

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA) in the Division of Infectious Diseases. The successful candidate will conduct research in mucosal immunology and the microbiome in the context of HIV and substance use.
Key Responsibilities
The Postdoctoral Researcher will be responsible for conducting research in mucosal immunology and the microbiome, with a focus on HIV and substance use. This will involve designing and implementing experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and presenting findings in a clear and concise manner. The candidate will also be expected to collaborate with other researchers and contribute to the development of research proposals and manuscripts.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to have a Ph.D. in a relevant field, such as immunology, microbiology, or a related field. The candidate should also have experience in techniques such as multi-color flow cytometry and/or mass cytometry, sterile technique for cell culture with BSL-2+ practices, ELISA, qRT-PCR, and sterile technique for bacterial culture. Bioinformatics knowledge is preferred but not required. Experience in bacteriology research (especially anaerobes) is preferred but not required. The candidate should be comfortable working with BSL2+ biospecimens including biospecimens (cells, plasma, gut tissues, saliva) from patients with HIV.
