Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our team at McCrite Plaza in Topeka. As a CNA, you will provide basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff, ensuring the highest level of care and comfort for our residents.

Essential Functions:
Provide direct resident care as assigned, conduct resident rounds daily, and perform nursing care as noted below:
Answer call lights within designated timeframe.
Give care to all residents assigned; make rounds on all residents; check soiled linens and side rails.
Change incontinent residents; wash and dry soiled residents.
Walk ambulatory residents; this includes taking them to the bathroom.
Give tub baths, showers, or bed baths to residents.
Complete oral hygiene and toileting.
Turn and reposition all bed and chair residents.
Place bedpans, linens, washbasins, and soiled linens in proper area.
Complete charting on residents.
Complete food percentage, intake and output, bowel, and bladder records.
Empty and record all urinary drainage units.

Shift Specific Duties:
Day:
Take residents to the dining room and assist in feeding if assigned.
Serve breakfast and/or lunch trays and assist residents that are unable to feed themselves; remove trays from resident rooms and return them to the dishwashing area; ensure that residents are offered nourishment.
Roll beds down.
Evening:
Take residents to the dining room and assist in feeding if assigned.
Serve evening meal trays and assist residents that are unable to feed themselves; remove trays from resident rooms and return them to the dishwashing area; ensure that residents are offered nourishment.
Prepare residents for bed.

Education and Experiences:
Prior experience in a similar working environment is preferred, but not a requirement of the position. This position requires a certificate as a Nurse Aide and/or Medical Assistant in the State of Kansas and to be listed as a Nurse Aide and/or Medical Assistant in the Kansas Department of Health and Environment Registry.
