Position Overview:
The Fuels Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing quality control on construction sites where contractors perform minor construction, maintenance, and repair tasks related to DoD fueling systems.
This role requires constant monitoring of quality standards on-site and thorough documentation of all project activities to keep all stakeholders informed throughout the project lifecycle.
Travel Requirements:
This position will initially involve extensive travel for assignments in various locations. Future opportunities may involve continued work abroad or within the U.S.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a High School Diploma along with a minimum of 10 years of experience in construction and quality control program management, including at least 5 years specifically related to DoD Fuels construction and quality control.
Willingness to travel internationally for extended periods (up to 6 months) to support field operations is essential.
Preferred Certifications:
- API 653 Inspector
- API 570 Inspector
- NACE/SSPC CIP Certification (any level)
- STI Tank Inspector
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector
- ASNT Level II or III Certification
- Quality Control Management (QCM) Course (USACE or Navy)
Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications is crucial, along with proficiency in creating daily and weekly field reports with photographic evidence using Microsoft Office. Strong verbal communication skills are also necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess personnel actions and halt field activities when quality standards are not met according to approved plans.
- Facilitate daily meetings with field teams and facility personnel as required.
- Implement and manage the on-site quality control program and associated activities.
- Act as a liaison with project managers, owners, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and internal departments regarding quality-related issues.
- Assist in the submission process for material and project plans, ensuring compliance with contract documents and specifications.
- Document quality control activities in daily logbooks and provide detailed photographic records of work performed, along with drafting and submitting daily activity reports.
