Job Overview

Position: Industrial Mechanical Technician

Work Schedule: 1st Shift - Monday to Friday (with occasional Saturdays)

Role Summary:

The Industrial Mechanical Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of heating treatment machinery, mechanical systems, facilities, and ancillary equipment.

Key Qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical skills and proficiency with hand tools
  • Willingness to learn and grow, actively participating in training sessions
  • Ability to endure various working conditions (hot/cold, dirty)
  • Team-oriented mindset, capable of adapting to changing tasks, and readiness to handle a range of responsibilities from simple to complex

Specific Experience Required:

Proven expertise (3-5 years) inanyof the following areas (experience in multiple areas is advantageous):

Mechanical:

  • Disassembly, replacement, and reassembly of pumps, drives, indexers, motors, gearboxes, etc.
  • Maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Pipe threading
  • Soldering and brazing of copper piping

Fabrication:

  • Welding
  • Machining
  • Cutting using torch or plasma cutter

Electronics and Controls:

  • Programming of PLCs, Motion Controls, and temperature instrumentation
  • Troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing control systems
  • Installation and integration of sensors, switches, and safety devices with existing controls

Electrical:

  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams
  • Proficiency in using voltmeters and ammeters for circuit testing
  • Installation of electric motors, starters, relays, PLCs, and instrumentation
  • Running electrical conduit and wiring
  • Troubleshooting electrical issues

Essential Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a heavy industrial setting or as a maintenance mechanic, millwright, or in a related capacity.
  • Strong mechanical skills and ability to utilize hand tools.
  • Capability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Familiarity with basic electrical systems, particularly 3-phase motors.
  • Welding experience is a plus.
