Job Overview

GENERAL SUMMARY:

To execute unskilled, physically demanding tasks to prepare, transport, and support colleagues in the production of materials, including but not limited to metals and tubing, into completed products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Carry out manual material handling activities.

2) Aid welders, machine operators, truck drivers, and others in the transportation and production of materials.

3) Operate overhead cranes and other powered material handling machinery.

4) Utilize powered hand tools and various hand tools.

5) Execute manual material handling duties.

6) Conduct administrative tasks such as labeling parts and filing.

7) Perform general maintenance and cleanliness tasks.

8) Maintain regular and punctual attendance on scheduled workdays.

9) Work overtime as directed by management.

10) Communicate effectively with team members.

11) Conduct basic measurements of materials.

12) Undertake any reasonable task or assignment as instructed by management.

13) Carry out all tasks and assignments safely.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

1) Proficient in operating industrial forklifts and other powered material handling vehicles.

2) Understanding of rigging procedures for the safe operation of overhead cranes.

3) Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.

4) Ability to stand for extended periods, minimum of 4 hours.

5) Willingness and ability to work varied shifts and overtime based on production needs.

6) Competence in performing basic mathematical calculations.

7) Knowledge and skill in operating powered hand tools and other hand tools.

8) Ability to wear ANSI-approved safety footwear, safety glasses, and other required personal protective equipment.

9) Knowledge and ability to perform tasks safely.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1) Background in forklift operation, overhead crane usage, and general manual labor tasks.

2) Experience and proficiency in using powered hand tools and other hand tools.
