Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our team at Gateway Community Health Center. As a Medical Office Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take vital signs, recognize emergencies, and prepare patients for procedures
  • Assist physicians with examinations and treatment, maintain medication records, and respond to medical emergencies
  • Perform accuchecks, UA dipstick, urine UCG, rapid strep test, and influenza test
  • Take vital signs, including weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, head and chest circumference of children and adults
  • Perform prior authorizations, electrocardiograms, ear lavage, pulmonary function tests, immunizations, injections, and electronic medical record intake/documentation
  • Maintain logs, including exam rooms, glucometer, weight scale, referrals, emergency bag, eye wash, and stock medication
  • Provide patients with appointments, track referrals, and prepare work areas for patients using universal precaution
  • Order and stock work areas with medical supplies as needed
  • Assist physicians with patient care, exams, and treatment, document accurately in Electronic Health Record, and operate and maintain facilities and equipment safety
  • Perform CPR and first aid as necessary, administer medication as directed by physician, and perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited high school or GED program
  • Graduate and receive certificate of completion from an accredited vocational/technical school in Medical Office Assistant
  • Registered/Certified with National Association for Healthcare Professionals or American Allied Health, with current BLS/CPR certificate
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred
