Job Summary

We are seeking a pool of qualified temporary instructors to teach Italian Studies courses at the University of California, Berkeley. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Italian language and culture, as well as experience in teaching at the college level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Italian language and culture courses, including reading and composition, literature, and history
  • Develop and implement course materials, including syllabi and assignments
  • Hold office hours and provide individualized support to students
  • Assign grades and provide feedback to students
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of Italian Studies programs
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Italian Studies or a related field
  • Experience teaching Italian language and culture courses at the college level
  • Strong background in Italian language and culture
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in Italian Studies or a related field
  • Experience teaching reading and writing in English
  • Professional training in language teaching
  • Demonstrated expertise in Italian literature and culture
