Lecturer Pool Position

We are seeking a pool of qualified temporary instructors to teach courses in the College Writing Programs at the University of California, Berkeley.
Job Summary:The College Writing Programs at UC Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary instructors to teach courses in the College Writing Programs. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed.
Responsibilities:- Teach in CWP's Reading and Composition sequence or other CWP courses in writing, reading, and oral communication.
- Have complete responsibility for classes, including teaching in a classroom environment, meeting with students during scheduled weekly office hours and by appointment, and grading student work.
- Advanced degree or enrolled in an advanced degree program.
- Completion of advanced degree and three years of university-level teaching experience are required.
- International applicants must also have permission to work in the U.S. by start date.
- A Ph.D., M.F.A., or equivalent international degree in one of the following fields: composition studies, rhetoric and composition, digital rhetoric, second-language writing/ESL/applied linguistics, education, creative writing, journalism, social sciences, or humanities.
- Three or more years of experience teaching university-level composition, creative writing, or other university writing.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Evidence of clear communication skills as presented in application materials.

- 1-Page Statement of Teaching.
- Syllabus from a recently taught class.
