Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our engineering team at Amoria Bond. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for integrating multiple components to create sophisticated electric power generation and propulsion systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Requirements: Derive and decompose system requirements into relevant subsystems based on customer specifications, covering interface, mechanical, electrical, software, power, efficiency, thermal, and EMC aspects.
- Design and Development: Collaborate with a cross-functional team to lead the design and development of electric machines from concept through production.
- System Design Decisions: Lead system design decisions, including trade studies, performance analysis, risk assessment, and test and evaluation strategies.
- Documentation: Develop detailed specifications, architecture, design documentation, and test plans/procedures.
- Customer Reviews: Conduct and support customer reviews, acting as a subject-matter expert for both internal teams and customers.
- Data Analysis: Provide critical data and insights to Product Management and other internal teams regarding market needs, product performance, and competitor analysis.
- Business Development: Support business development and proposal activities, identifying and advocating for R&D initiatives.
- Resource Estimation: Estimate resources and timelines for the design and development of hardware and software, ensuring alignment with program schedules.
- Process Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements to operational policies and procedures related to Systems Engineering.
Qualifications:
- Education: B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline with 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of electronic systems and electric machine design, applications, and manufacturing processes. Proficiency in motor/generator controller design and PCB layout. Experience in creating comprehensive requirements documentation. Extensive experience with embedded control systems and control system components.
- Soft Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of engineering best practices and standards. Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills. Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS CAD design tools and familiarity with Matlab/Simulink.
Preferred Skills:
- Systems Engineering Tools: Experience with Systems Engineering tools such as DOORS, DNG, Cameo, Jira, and Confluence.
- Technical Leadership: Technical leadership experience and the ability to architect, design, and maintain C/C++ code.
- Thermal Design: Knowledge of thermal design considerations and electronics packaging.
- Industry Experience: Industry experience in Aerospace or Defense.
