Job Summary:
The Writers Center within the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at Eastern Washington University is seeking a skilled and team-oriented Student Success Advisor to join our team. This is a 10-month, full-time appointment that requires a strong commitment to student success and academic advising.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide academic advising and support to students in the Writers Center, focusing on their academic and personal success.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote student engagement and retention, particularly for underrepresented groups.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure a seamless student experience, from recruitment to graduation.
- Conduct outreach and programming to promote the Writers Center and its services to the university community.
- Stay up-to-date with university policies and procedures, as well as best practices in academic advising and student success.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field.
- Experience in academic advising, student success, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field.
- Experience working in a higher education setting.
- Knowledge of student success theories and best practices.
