Apex Systems is in search of a Systems Operations Administrator for a contract-to-hire position. This role will require an onsite presence. Eligibility for Public Trust qualifications or possession of a SECRET Security Clearance is essential.

Key Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in systems administration within a Microsoft-centric environment, managing complex automated systems.
  • Possession of Security + (CE) certification is mandatory.
  • Proficient in managing Microsoft Windows servers.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving work demands, prioritize effectively, and troubleshoot technical issues as they arise.
  • Strong collaborative skills in a diverse team setting.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for hardware (servers, PCs, and peripherals), operating systems, and software infrastructure.
  • Install, maintain, configure, and optimize personal computer and network operating systems, including Microsoft, Linux, and VMware.
  • Deliver program management technical support, data management, and server oversight to maintain operational computing environments.
  • Design and implement policies for data storage, backup, recovery, server software upgrades, and routine server maintenance.
  • Manage Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange services, including forest creation and account management.
  • Create automated solutions for operational tasks to enhance efficiency and standardization.
  • Offer comprehensive Data Center Program Technical Support, including site assessments and preventive maintenance.
  • Engage in Data Center Administration tasks, which may involve planning, design, and risk assessments.
  • Develop a thorough life-cycle management strategy, including technology implementation roadmaps and equipment reconfiguration requirements.
  • Oversee the management of various operating systems, ensuring compliance with Information Assurance requirements and maintaining system availability.
  • Assist with new IT projects impacting network operations in accordance with security guidelines.
  • Provide infrastructure management and monitoring for server, network, and virtualization environments.
  • Utilize tools such as Microsoft System Center Operations Manager and Solar Winds for proactive monitoring of critical assets.
