Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Deputy of External Affairs, the Public Affairs Manager is responsible for assisting in the planning, organization, direction, coordination, evaluation, and management of media relations for the Department of Transportation. The Public Affairs Manager is responsible for media relations, strategic planning, and project delivery support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of media relations strategies to promote the Department's programs and services.
  • Coordinate with media outlets to secure coverage of Department events and initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including media representatives, community leaders, and other external partners.
  • Provide strategic planning and project delivery support to ensure successful execution of Department initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid driver's license is required when operating a State-owned or leased vehicle.
  • Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) required.

Working Conditions:

This position may be eligible for telework, and the selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs.
