About the Role
Sentara is seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care and support under the direct supervision of a professional nurse
- Assist with admissions and discharge processes
- Monitor patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report any changes to the nursing team
- Support the implementation of delegated aspects of nursing care
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- One of the following certifications: Sentara Care Partner Certification Program, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT), completion of US Navy Hospital Corps School, Emergency Services (EMR, EMS, EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic), or current student enrolled in a clinical program (RN, LPN, RT, or PT) or current work experience within the last three years as a PCT or Nursing Assistant
- American Health Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of prior healthcare experience
