Job Title: Maintenance Technician

At VetJobs, we are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician will perform routine maintenance and repairs on building equipment, including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance and repair, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building equipment, including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Comply with all plant safety and work rules, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Operate Genie Boom and Scissors Lifts safely and efficiently.
  • Work productively without direct supervision, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
  • Maintain and administer parts supply systems and PM systems, ensuring accurate records and inventory management.
  • Develop and maintain a positive attitude towards quality, safety, and overall productivity, including teamwork and collaboration.
  • Leave work areas clean and organized, adhering to company standards.
  • Participate in training classes and seminars, both in-house and external, to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, including special projects and tasks.
Requirements:
  • Formal education in a maintenance discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to complete aptitude tests and assessments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including reading, writing, and listening.
  • Basic math skills and ability to perform calculations accurately.
  • Proven track record of being a hard-working, dependable employee.
  • Physical ability to meet job demands, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Detailed-oriented and organized, with ability to maintain accurate records and inventory.
