At Agnes Scott College, we are seeking a skilled Public Safety Communications Professional to join our team. This role is responsible for monitoring and directing communications (phone, radio, and walk-in traffic) for the Department, ensuring seamless interactions with law enforcement and public safety agencies.
Key Responsibilities
• Monitor and direct phone, radio, and walk-in traffic
• Review scheduled activities and inform officers
• Maintain logs of incoming calls, prioritize calls, and dispatch personnel as needed
• Prepare incident reports and work orders, perform other clerical duties
• Activate emergency call list procedures and test communication equipment
• Assist in accumulating statistics for GBIC/GBI monthly reports
• Serve as a resource for subordinate personnel
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent level of education
• GCIC certification or completion within 6 months of employment
• Minimum 6 months police or 911 dispatch work experience
• Considerable knowledge of dispatching procedures, regulations, and geography
• Proficiency in radio/communications equipment operation and computer skills
Estimated salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year.
