Job Summary

The part-time Information Technology Computer Lab Assistant reports to the Computer Services Coordinator at the Sugar Grove Campus. This role is responsible for assisting computing customers, maintaining the computing lab environment, and providing technical support to students and faculty.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist computing customers with technical issues and provide support for computer hardware and software.
  • Maintain the computing lab environment, including ensuring all equipment is operating properly and preparing labs and classrooms for the start of each semester.
  • Answer the Technical Assistance Center phone and communicate with TAC on an ongoing basis to ensure customer service issues are handled appropriately.
  • Provide backup and assistance to other areas of IT, including Computer Services Technicians and Specialists, as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one year experience required in either technical support or a customer service position supporting a computer environment.
  • Basic hardware and software knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with users of various technical skill levels.
