Job Summary:

As an Interventional Radiology Technologist with Advocate Health, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians in performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using advanced imaging equipment. This position requires a strong understanding of sterile techniques, patient handling, and equipment operation. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care and maintain accurate laboratory records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of technical procedures, including angiographic imaging and revascularization procedures, under the direction of a qualified physician.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of laboratory records to ensure the excellence of care provided.
• Cooperate as a team player with nursing unit staff, other allied health care professionals, and physicians to promote the efficiency and quality of care provided by the Interventional Radiology Service.
• Maintain appropriate competencies as defined by the ACR, Accrediting Organization, IEMA, IRSRT, and ASRT.
• Produce high-quality digital images to demonstrate the peripheral, viscera, and neurovascular system and/or non-vascular imaging performed in the Interventional Radiology Laboratory.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT Registration.
• 1-3 years of Radiology experience in a Hospital/Trauma environment.
• 1+ years of experience specific to SPECIAL PROCEDURES (non-specific to Cath. Lab.).
• Knowledge of sterile techniques.
• Ability to recognize needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated.
• Proficient in the operation of basic angiographic equipment.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Knowledge of Special Procedure Services.
• ARRT Registry - first year of employment.
• CPR Certification within six months of employment.
• IEMA License.
• Ability to respond to requests to work on short notice.
• Flexible in starting times to meet demand.
• Ability to transport, move, and lift patients.
• Ability to take call (Every third week cycle).
• Ability to work under stressful conditions.
• Willing to work overtime as requested.

Additional Requirements:

• Maintain professional decorum and adhere to dress code as required by the department.
• Comply with mandatory DiMedici Computer Program for Fire Safety, MRI Safety, and Universal Precautions.
• Maintain CPR Certification.
• Practicing using the stroke core measures as the guide to appropriate stroke care.
• Maintain appropriate competencies as defined by the ACR, Accrediting Organization, IEMA, IRSRT, and ASRT.

Working Conditions:

• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance.
• Use of patient handling equipment is expected when lifting patients over 35 pounds or when patients are unable to assist with the lift.
• Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Education and Experience:
