Job Description

We are seeking a highly dedicated Instructional Assistant to support our special education team. The successful candidate will work closely with our Lead Teachers to provide specialized instruction to students with special education needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the creation of inclusive learning environments that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Assist in the preparation of materials for class, classroom activities, and assignments
  • Supervise students in all areas of the school, including arrival and dismissal
  • Provide academic support to improve children's achievement of individual academic and behavioral goals
  • Regularly observe students and take anecdotal notes to inform planning
  • Communicate with families and colleagues to ensure a collaborative approach to student support
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience working with middle school or high school-aged students with special needs preferred
  • Commitment to working with students from educationally under-served communities preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
