Job Summary

As a Nursing Care Specialist at MedStar, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the nursing care of patients from admission through discharge.
  • Collaborate with patients and families to provide theory-based professional nursing care and coordinate care delivery with various members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adhere to department policies, procedures, quality standards, safety standards, and MedStar SPIRIT Values.
  • Practice within legal boundaries of the nurse practice act and possess a theoretical understanding of the universal ethical principles.
  • Facilitate the collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, fostering effective communication with other disciplines, to identify patient and family needs, based on their strengths, prior to discharge.

Requirements:
  • Associate's degree of an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor's degree Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state or jurisdiction of the facility seeking employment, or Multistate Compact state or license eligible.
  • Basic computer skills required.
