Position Overview:

The Production Assembler role is focused on the assembly of various components and conducting essential testing procedures. Key responsibilities include packaging electrical systems, utilizing hand tools, and operating powered industrial vehicles (PIV) to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. The position requires a strong ability to interpret technical drawings and effectively use the Manufacturing Tracking System (MTS), On Floor Sheets (OFS), and assembly equipment. Additionally, the Production Assembler will collaborate with MTS and Quality teams to foster ongoing improvements, document assembly issues, and report any supplier-related discrepancies. Active participation in daily team meetings and adherence to operational management practices such as Tier 1, Quality Control Process Control (QCPC), 5S, and Material Review Board (MRB) are crucial.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Assemble mechanical components according to specified work instructions (MTS) and/or OFS
  • Employ PIV for packaging and crating tasks
  • Perform basic rework on assemblies to rectify identified issues
  • Utilize shop floor management systems to promote Tier 1, 5S, and cross-training initiatives for continuous enhancement
  • Engage in Level I On-the-Job Training (OJT) and cross-training for Level II assembly tasks
  • Complete additional tasks as directed by supervisors or management

Qualifications for Success:

Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education: High School

Minimum Experience: 0 to 1 year in production assembly

Preferred Experience: Over 1 year in a manufacturing setting

Essential Job Requirements:

  • Adherence to all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) policies, including the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Compliance with Key Product Characteristic (KPC) standards
  • Understanding the implications of the Manufacturing Tracking System (MTS) production schedule
  • Awareness of tool longevity and the ability to notify maintenance for necessary repairs or replacements
  • Maintaining a tidy workspace and promoting continuous improvement through 5S methodologies
  • Participation in Continuous Improvement (CI) Superday Training within the first year of employment
