PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
ENGRAVING CYLINDERS - Responsible for engraving the specified line resolution and cell configuration by utilizing both visual and microscopic assessments of the cylinder surface; completing the finishing processes and chroming the cylinders post-engraving; polishing and inspecting the cylinder surfaces. This includes transferring engraving logs to the quality certification folder and performing data entry for cell volume measurements to maintain accurate records. Daily documentation of engraving logs and data entry into Excel files is also required.
CYLINDER LOGISTICS SUPPORT - Involves programming automation and managing the entry and exit of cylinders on the production line. Tasks include transporting and retrieving cylinders between departments and the engraving area, as well as installing and removing adaptors for various lab and non-standard bases.
FILE MANAGEMENT - Responsible for copying and transferring files from the Repro Department to the DLS system, ensuring all data aligns with engraving specifications.
ENGRAVING OPERATIONS - Conducting SAP transactions to finalize engraving orders and manage base stock movements for cylinder allocation. Coordination of cylinders required for re-chroming, plating, de-plating, and engraving is also essential.
PRODUCTION ASSISTANCE - Collaborating with the production supervisor to discuss re-chroming and special requests regarding cylinders.
EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE - Daily inspections of engraving equipment including lasers, extraction systems, and chillers; performing all necessary services as per OEM guidelines, such as changing filters and cleaning the extraction chamber. This includes coordinating with the Maintenance Department and external vendors to ensure adherence to preventative maintenance schedules.
WORKSPACE MAINTENANCE - Ensuring the engraving room is kept organized, clean, and well-maintained; responsible for the upkeep of all plating equipment.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Punctuality for shift start times.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Basic understanding of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Effective communication skills.
- Basic data entry proficiency is preferred.
- Comfort with handling chemicals.
- Candidates with a strong mechanical aptitude are ideal.
WORKING HOURS:
Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (with potential for weekly overtime as needed).
COMPENSATION:
Starting at $23.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
