Job Title: Engraving Plating Technician

We are seeking a skilled Engraving Plating Technician to join our team at Interprint, Inc. in Pittsfield, MA. The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engrave cylinders with precision and accuracy, ensuring high-quality finishes and chroming.
  • Assist with cylinder logistics, including programming automation, entering cylinders into and out of the line, and transporting cylinders to and from the cylinder department.
  • Rip files from the Repro Department to the DLS system, verifying data accuracy for engraving specifications.
  • Conduct SAP transactions to close engraving orders, manage base stock movement for cylinder allocation, and coordinate cylinders needed for re-chromes, plating, de-plating, and engraving.
  • Assist production by coordinating meetings with the production supervisor to review re-chromes and special requests made to cylinders.
  • Ensure the operation of equipment, including daily inspections of the laser, finishstar, extraction system, and chillers, as well as coordinating with the Maintenance Department and outside vendors for preventative maintenance programs.
  • Maintain the cylinder engraving room, keeping the area neat, clean, and organized, and cleaning and maintaining all plating equipment.

Requirements:

  • Arrive on time for the start of the shift.
  • Ability to multi-task and follow instructions with strong attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of SDS sheets and data entry skills.
  • Comfort level with chemicals and strong mechanical aptitude.
