Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Clinical Adjunct Faculty member to teach in our Nursing program. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and improving curricula, instructing assigned courses, evaluating student learning, and fostering student success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Curriculum Development: Plan, organize, and instruct courses as assigned by the Department Chairperson/supervisor, utilizing effective and engaging instructional strategies, the learning management system (LMS), appropriate communication, classroom management, leadership skills, and instructional/educational technology to promote student success.
  • Student Learning and Support: Demonstrate best practices in instruction and classroom management that respond to students' diverse academic needs. Assist or lead in planning and/or developing new curriculum and courses, as assigned by the Department Chairperson/Dean. Evaluate and revise existing curriculum and courses as part of the annual course evaluation process and/or as assigned.
  • Student Advisement and Support: Serve as an advisor for students, utilizing effective advisement strategies, the Student Educational Plan and other advisement tools to promote student retention and progression. Assist students toward the successful completion of course(s) which the instructor is teaching by providing outreach, guidance, feedback, supplemental instruction, tutoring, and other approved forms of academic support.
  • Professional Development and Service: Participate in the planning and implementation of Student Learning Outcomes Assessment (SLOA). Work as a team member with other faculty and staff to facilitate College and academic program operations and achieve goals and objectives. Provide guidance to new and adjunct faculty as assigned. Assist in attaining and maintaining program accreditation.
Requirements
  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Master's degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Four (4) years of relevant work experience in nursing.
  • Possession of, or eligibility for, a valid license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Delaware or compact state at time of application and during employment in this position.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to meet the essential functions as outlined for a clinical faculty member. This includes the ability to use senses, hearing ability, motor ability, ability to communicate, ability to problem-solve, and ability to maintain emotional stability.
