Job Summary

Serves as an intern/co-op with Oldcastle APG upon attaining their sophomore status in their designated course of study. Interns and co-ops may also work on a part-time basis throughout the school year based on company needs and availability of intern. Interns and co-ops will be integrated into an existing team of Oldcastle APG associates based on the primary functional area of the intern's assignment. The intern/co-op will receive his or her direction and assignments from a designated operations manager in the primary functional area. This manager will be the primary contact throughout the assignment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Undertakes and successfully completes simple or basic project/product development tasks to include any of the following:
    • Writing and/or verifying specifications
    • Maintaining product/process documentation
    • Testing processes equipment, raw materials and product, and validating equipment and processes
  • May assist in inventing / creating concepts and designs/approaches for new products/processes/test methods
  • Designs, procures, and fabricates simple tooling and fixtures
  • Designs and coordinates engineering tests and experiments
  • Prepares standard reports/documentation to communicate results to technical community
  • Completes basic tasks on engineering documentation
  • Train technicians/operators on new processes and/or test procedures
  • Identifies areas for improvement, suggests solutions, and submits idea records
  • Build quality into all aspects of their work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements
Job Requirements
  • Sophomore or higher status in the following engineering majors:
    • Industrial
    • Civil
    • Mechanical
    • Structural
    • Material Sciences
  • Demonstrated skills with Microsoft Offices packages:
    • Word
    • Excel
    • Power Point
  • Must work well in team environment and have good communication skills
  • Must be able to work in a plant environment with some degree of flexibility in work hours
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
