We are seeking a highly skilled Enterprise Architect to join our team at ASB Resources. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing data architecture frameworks, standards, and data modeling activities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling, solution architecture, and master data management. They will also have experience working with different software development methodologies and be proficient in NoSQL, relational, and canonical data modeling.

The Enterprise Information Strategy is divided into several tracks of work, and the Senior Enterprise Data Architect will focus on:

  • AWS Cloud Data Architecture
  • Building Data Architecture Frameworks
  • Data pipeline frameworks
  • Standards, and Data Modeling Activities for UI Mod
  • Defining Conceptual, Logical, Physical Analytical and Canonical models

The successful candidate will analyze the data needs of the systems and databases, collect and organize the data into structured data models, and present findings to management. They will also meet with business teams to determine the best methods to gather information required.

The Enterprise Data Architect must:

  • Research and properly evaluate resources of information to determine possible limitations in reliability or usability
  • Apply sampling techniques to effectively determine and define ideal categories to be questioned
  • Compare and analyze provided statistical information to identify patterns, relationships, and problems
  • Define and utilize statistical methods to solve industry-specific problems and engineer data structures

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 15+ years of experience in Business/IT working as a Data Architect, Data Modeler, Data Analyst, and/or Business Process Support Associate
  • Expertise in Data Modeling, Solution Architecture, Master Data Management (MDM), Business Process Analysis/Engineering, Business Requirements Gathering, and Systems Analysis in State, Local Government, and Public Sector Domains
  • Expertise in one or more Data Modeling Tools
  • Experience working with different Software Development Methodologies
  • Proficient in NoSQL, Relational, MDM, and Canonical Data Modeling
  • Extensive Knowledge of Data Management Principles
  • Extensive Knowledge of Master Data Management Principles
  • Knowledge of Data Governance Concepts
  • Knowledge of Data Engineering Methodologies

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting Current State Assessments of Data Systems
  • Defining System of Record and Data Dictionary for Data Systems
  • Developing Enterprise Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Models
  • Creating and building Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Models
  • Facilitating Business Sessions and validating business taxonomy and use cases aligned to data models
  • Providing initial design solutions for core data models as well as for additional upcoming data sources and required models supporting
  • Supporting Project Needs to design Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Models to Modernization Efforts
  • Defining the NJDOL architecture from Conceptual, Logical to Physical layers
  • Providing solution expertise to cross-functional delivery teams
  • Providing architecture thought leadership and actively participating in the design, implementation, and roll-out efforts
  • Developing and maintaining Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Models using best practices and DOL standards to ensure high data quality, reduced data redundancy, and good query performance
  • Reverse and forward engineering data models in Erwin or other Data Modeling Tools
  • Optimizing and updating Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Models to support new and existing projects and ensure business users are working in a clean safe data environment
  • Assisting in the creation of best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models
  • Coordinating activities with the rest of the EDL team including developers and testers; Assisting in promoting database objects from lower to higher environments
  • Leading design reviews of data models and other relevant metadata to ensure consistency, quality, accuracy, and integrity
  • Recommending opportunities for reuse of data models in new projects
  • Consulting with Database Administrators concerning the creation of physical data schema from the logical model by making recommendations, designing referential integrity, and ensuring business requirements are satisfied
  • Consulting with ETL developers, report developers, end users concerning how to use the database as designed and how to navigate efficiently within the database
  • Guiding System Analysts, Engineers, Programmers, and others on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces, and system integration challenges and solutions
  • Mentoring DOL team members on all aspects of Data Modeling
