**Job Summary**

The Cancer Registry Operations Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of cancer data at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. This position oversees the day-to-day operations of the Cancer Registry, providing supervisory oversight to cancer registrars and ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Provide leadership and guidance to cancer registrars, ensuring accurate and timely data entry into the registry
* Oversee daily Cancer Registry operations, including review of case finding resources and entry of reportable cases into suspense
* Maintain abstract configuration to ensure compliance with Commission on Cancer (CoC) standards
* Develop and implement methods for cross-coverage of daily registry activities to ensure smooth workflow among individuals and teams
* Supervise non-CTR team members and provide oversight of their work
* Schedule and facilitate registry staff meetings
* Monitor compliance with NM cancer registry overall submissions and assess registrar-specific performance
* Identify operational, clinical quality, documentation, and patient safety improvement opportunities and oversee local improvement activities
* Ensure compliance with regulatory organization and accrediting bodies requirements
* Coordinate regional quarterly Cancer Committee preparation and annual Survey/Program Activity Records responsibilities as required to meet accreditation by the ACoS

* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Ability to work collaboratively with registry team, medical staff, hospital, and physician office staff and leadership
* Knowledge of cancer registry operations and accreditation standards
* Ability to analyze data and identify trends and opportunities for improvement
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
