Outpatient Care Nurse

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Ambulatory Care Nurse to play a pivotal role in the coordination and delivery of nursing services. The successful candidate will be responsible for the integration, communication, and evaluation of nursing practices and clinical policies. This role involves participating in quality improvement initiatives, systematically collecting patient health data, and collaborating with healthcare providers to formulate patient-centered care plans aimed at achieving optimal health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Ambulatory Care Nurse include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting physical assessments and diagnostic evaluations.
- Gathering comprehensive patient health histories.
- Documenting patient information in electronic health records.
- Providing education and support to patients and families regarding treatment options and results.
- Administering medications, including vaccinations and IV therapies, while ensuring effective wound care.
- Monitoring patient responses to treatments and interventions.
- Interpreting patient data to make informed treatment decisions.
- Collaborating with clinical supervisors and healthcare providers to establish effective treatment strategies.
- Supervising and delegating tasks to nursing staff and medical assistants to enhance patient care efficiency.
- Performing additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, with a Diploma or Associate's degree considered if accompanied by at least one year of relevant experience and a plan to obtain a Bachelor's degree. A current Registered Professional Nurse license in New York is mandatory, along with Basic Life Support Certification from the American Heart Association. Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential.
Licenses Required: Registered Nurse License in New York, Basic Life Support Certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
ACLS certification and membership in relevant professional organizations are advantageous.
Effective communication skills across all organizational levels are essential for success in this role.

NYU Langone Hospitals adheres to the New York state law on salary transparency. The salary range for this position is $106,647.02 annually, with actual compensation determined by factors such as experience, specialty, and educational background.
