Compensation Package: Competitive salary ranging from $350,000 to $400,000, in addition to a production-based bonus.
Work Schedule: The position offers a balanced schedule of 4.5 days per week, including a half-day on Sundays. Typical working hours are from 9 AM to 5 PM for consultations and 7 AM to 4 PM for procedures, with a structured half-day for both activities. A one-hour lunch break is provided daily, ensuring no patient appointments are scheduled during this time.
On-Call Duties: The role does not require hospital call; the only on-call responsibility involves responding to infrequent after-hours phone inquiries.
Patient Load: The practice typically sees 8 to 12 consults or follow-ups daily, along with up to 10 procedures during scoping sessions.
Practice Environment: This is an outpatient facility focused solely on adult patients.
Electronic Medical Records: Utilization of MD Land for patient consultations and follow-ups, and MDReports for procedural documentation.
Support Team: The practice is supported by a team of front desk staff, medical assistants, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and prior authorization specialists for procedures, medications, and imaging studies.
Available Equipment: The practice is equipped for office-based endoscopy, including anesthesia and laboratory services on-site, featuring Olympus 190 scopes and related equipment.
Employee Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package including malpractice insurance, coverage for licensing and DEA fees, professional society membership dues, health insurance, retirement plan eligibility after a vesting period, one week of continuing medical education (CME), three weeks of vacation, and ongoing professional and financial development opportunities.
Scope of Responsibilities: The Gastroenterologist will conduct consultations, manage follow-ups, and perform various procedures.
Types of Procedures Performed: The role includes performing esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy, and hemorrhoidal banding, as per the physician's discretion.
Practice Philosophy: The practice emphasizes a collaborative approach, ensuring that new physicians receive ample support from colleagues. There is a strong commitment to teamwork, with senior doctors available for guidance and assistance. An open-door policy fosters communication among all healthcare providers within the practice.
Future Growth Plans: The practice is stable and aims to expand its services by adding at least one additional physician this year and another the following year, in response to the increasing demand for appointments and procedures. Plans are also in place to introduce a pathology lab to enhance service offerings.
