About the Role

The Detroit Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse Specialist to join our team at Children's Hospital of Michigan.

As a Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to critically ill children and their families. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill children in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU)
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the patient's family and healthcare team
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and respond promptly to any changes or concerns
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required; Master's degree preferred
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan required
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • At least 2 years of experience in pediatric critical care nursing
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
