About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Ochsner LSU Health System. As a key member of our imaging services team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy
  • Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate patient care
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Operate imaging equipment to complete procedures according to protocol
  • Review patient images to ensure diagnostic quality standards are met
  • Perform quality control procedures and notify/remediate as necessary
  • Assist with departmental operations, including inventory, staff schedules, and equipment maintenance
Requirements
  • Completion of a Radiologic Technology program in an AMA-approved school or a CAHEA-approved formal training program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
  • 2 years of experience in Radiologic Technology
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) and/or certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
  • Current license in the state of practice
  • Advanced level certification(s) in specific additional modalities
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications
  • Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with and maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to work efficiently and calmly under pressure
  • Ability to work self-directed and function without direct supervision
Work Environment

The incumbent works in a patient care area, works in an area where patients enter, works directly with patients, and/or works with specimens that could contain communicable diseases. The incumbent has an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases.

Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning, and/or disposal of contaminated waste.
