Job Summary

This role is responsible for assisting in the performance of complex specialized tasks, operating fluoroscopy, computed tomography, laser, and ultrasonography equipment during vascular and neuroradiology angiographic and interventional procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing and implementing systems to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of patients for procedures in the Interventional labs.
  • Circulate and scrub roles during procedures, patient teaching, assisting with patient care within scope of practice, inventory management, and schedule coordination.
  • Meet expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Assist and provide diagnostic images for invasive procedures, including arteriography, insertions, perm catheter placement, stenting, dialysis dicots, thrombolytic procedures, and angioplasty.
  • Operate and manipulate Special Procedures equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Obtain optimum quality and accuracy of images.
  • Collaborate with physicians and nurses to ensure accurate recording of charges and codes for each procedure performed.
  • Operate a variety of fixed and portable radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment located throughout the hospital, including surgical suites and intensive care units.
  • Demonstrate competence in performing assigned patient care responsibilities, meeting age-specific and developmental needs of patients.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent required.
  • 12 months training/experience in special procedures preferred.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in Radiology required.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Post-Primary Pathway in Vascular Interventional Radiography certificate required within 2 years.
  • State licensure required.
  • Current BLS (American Heart Association) required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred.
