About the Role:
Kent is seeking a Commissioning Operations Lead. This role involves reporting to the Commissioning Manager and collaborating with both Company and Contractor construction teams to ensure that all systems are fully operational and ready for handover to the Start-Up Team. You will manage a team of six contractors focused on completions. Your responsibilities will include overseeing and guiding the turnover and handover processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Construction Contractors to ensure safe and efficient execution of Mechanical Completion and turnover processes.
- Work with contractors to arrange walkdowns and develop punch lists, ensuring timely resolution of critical punch list items to meet turnover schedules.
- Oversee the review and approval of Contractor procedures for Mechanical Completion documentation and turnover activities.
- Facilitate the transition from construction to system turnover, ensuring alignment with project timelines.
- Coordinate with Planning and Construction teams to meet scheduled Mechanical Completion dates.
- Serve as a key liaison with Commissioning Leads to ensure timely completion and submission of commissioning documentation.
- Review and verify all documentation related to turnover to ensure a smooth handover to Operations.
- Ensure the maintenance and accuracy of the completion management system database.
- Support the database administrator with updates and changes as necessary.
- Collaborate with Engineering to ensure that all engineering data is current and accurate.
- Provide progress updates on Mechanical Completion and commissioning to the Commissioning Superintendent.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A degree or technical diploma with over 10 years of experience in systems completions.
- Proven leadership experience in Mechanical Completion and Commissioning environments.
- Extensive knowledge of electronic Systems Completions database management systems.
- In-depth understanding of Project Completion standards, specifications, and safety criteria.
- Ability to foster successful working relationships and be a collaborative team player.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluent in English, with strong communication skills for effective collaboration.
- Ability to inspire and guide team members towards shared objectives.
- Skills in conflict resolution and promoting constructive discussions within the team.
- Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback to team members.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively share ideas and expectations with team members.
- Ability to provide mentorship and coaching to enhance team performance and support professional growth.
