About the Role:

The Certified Surgical Technician is a vital member of the surgical team at JPS Health Network, working closely with physicians, nurses, and other surgical personnel to deliver exceptional patient care and assume key responsibilities before, during, and after surgery.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Pre-Surgical Preparation: Assist in preparing patients for surgery, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
  2. Surgical Assistance: Collaborate with surgeons, residents, and other medical professionals to maintain a sterile environment and assist with surgical procedures.
  3. Instrument Management: Handle and maintain surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment to ensure their availability and proper functioning.
  4. Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and surgical outcomes.
  5. Communication: Effectively communicate with the surgical team to ensure seamless coordination and minimize delays.

Requirements:

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Technologist in Surgery Certified (TS-C), or LVN with specialized training.
  • 2 years of relevant experience.
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) certification or the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) certification.
  • Current JPS recognized CPR certification.
