Position Overview

The Cashier is responsible for processing payments for services and parts transactions, playing a vital role in ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcomes customers at the cashier station with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Calculates customer bills accurately.
  • Accepts cash, checks, and credit card payments, recording the amounts received.
  • Provides change and issues receipts to customers.
  • Processes cash refunds or credit notes for returned items.
  • Operates the cash register efficiently.
  • Balances the cash drawer at the end of each day.
  • Directs customers with inquiries about services or repairs to the appropriate personnel.
  • Handles customer complaints with professionalism and, when necessary, escalates issues to the right individuals for resolution.
  • Maintains and organizes repair orders, parts invoices, and rental forms; tracks missing documents.
  • Closes all outstanding invoices.
  • Assists the service and parts departments with phone coverage.
  • Provides administrative support to the parts and service teams.
  • Collaborates with the department manager to stay informed about new products and services, their features, and pricing changes.
  • Maintains a professional appearance at all times.
  • Keeps the work area tidy and organized.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
Language Proficiency
  • Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write basic correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small group settings with customers, clients, and other employees.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with numbers.
Reasoning Skills
  • Ability to apply common sense to follow simple one- or two-step instructions.
