We are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Technician to join our team at Pep Boys. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex automotive issues, providing exceptional customer service, and leading by example to drive team success.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems to specifications.
- Perform job duties of all lower job descriptions, including Technician B, Mechanic, and General Service Technician.
- Effectively communicate technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals, including employees and customers.
- Continuously learn new technical information and techniques to stay up-to-date with rapidly changing automotive technology.
- Assist fellow technicians and mechanics in performing technical activities.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving, and repair experience.
- 4 or more ASE certifications are preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes, plus 2 from the following: A1 Engine Repair, A6 Electrical, A7 HVAC, A8 Engine Performance, L1 Advanced Engine Performance).
- Section 609 certification required.
- State Inspection license if applicable.
- High level of motivation, energy, and customer-focused attitude.
- Valid driver's license.
- Successful completion of pre-employment background check.
