Job Summary

Alaska Garden and Pet Supply Inc. is seeking a skilled Feed Mill Production Associate to join our team. This role involves manufacturing high-quality feed in a timely manner, with a focus on producing high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bag and sew bags of feed produced from the mill.
  • Daily cleaning of the feed mill and load-out areas, outside feed storage area, and computer area.
  • Weekly feed label order management.
  • Display a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assigned tasks.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • 0-3 years of feed mill experience.
  • Minimum HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding, receive instructions, which can be furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Preferred: Lock and Out Tag Out Certified (in-house certification).
  • Preferred: Forklift Trained (in-house certification).
  • Willingness to work in a non-smoking facility.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. repeatedly and up to 100 lbs. on occasion.
  • Requires high level of physical activity for 8-10 hours a day.
  • Position requires standing/walking on hard surface for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, crouch, reach overhead, and work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work in a dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures.

Working Relationship:

Works closely with Feed Mill Manager and other feed mill and warehouse employees. Requires ability to work as a team player with all company employees and management.
