Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager of Decarbonization Programs to join our team at Veolia North America. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive decarbonization strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainability.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in decarbonization and sustainability. You will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of a long-term decarbonization plan, collaborating with local business units to set and achieve annual CO2 reduction goals, and advising utility leadership on defining decarbonization and implementing measuring and monitoring best practices.

You will also be responsible for developing relationships with local and regional power utilities and stakeholders to take advantage of rebate, tax credit, and related energy efficiency programs, and working closely with the Municipal Water and Utility Technical and Performance teams to track, report, and dashboard the MW BU's greenhouse gas emissions footprint.

The successful candidate will have excellent managerial, supervisory, mentoring, and team collaboration skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills, including comfort delivering presentations to senior leadership. You will also have the ability to prioritize and manage large, complex projects, deadlines, and tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive decarbonization strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainability.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a long-term decarbonization plan.
  • Collaborate with local business units to set and achieve annual CO2 reduction goals.
  • Advise utility leadership on defining decarbonization and implementing measuring and monitoring best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in decarbonization and sustainability.
  • Excellent managerial, supervisory, mentoring, and team collaboration skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including comfort delivering presentations to senior leadership.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage large, complex projects, deadlines, and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
